Some information you provide about pregnancy may reveal information about your health.
We use pregnancy-related information only to provide Bumpby's personalised experience, including calculating your pregnancy stage and showing information, classes and support relevant to you.
We do not require you to make this information public.
Where required by data protection law, we rely on your explicit consent to process pregnancy-related information.
You can remove a pregnancy journey from Bumpby or delete your account at any time.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your Bumpby account

Bumpby's recommendations may use information such as your family journey, age or pregnancy stage, postcode, class eligibility and distance.
This personalisation does not make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
4. Location information
Bumpby uses your postcode to help find relevant classes, activities and support close to you.
We may convert your postcode into approximate geographic coordinates so that we can calculate distance and show nearby results.
Bumpby does not need continuous GPS tracking to provide this functionality.
5. Community
Participation in the Bumpby Community is optional.
Community sharing settings are off by default.
If you choose to join the Community, other participating users may see limited profile information such as your first name, profile image and family-stage information.
If you separately choose to share booked activities, other Community members may also see the activity information you have chosen to share.
You can change these preferences from your Bumpby profile.
6. Classes and external booking providers
Bumpby helps you discover classes, activities and support provided by independent third-party organisations.
When you choose “Book class” or follow an external booking link, you may leave Bumpby and visit the provider's own website or booking service.
Those organisations are responsible for their own privacy practices and any information you provide directly to them.
Bumpby does not control the privacy practices of independent class or activity providers.
7. Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information.
We may use trusted technology and service providers to operate Bumpby, including services used for:
- Authentication
- Database hosting
- Secure data storage
- App infrastructure
- Technical support and security
For example, Bumpby currently uses Supabase for services including authentication, database functionality and storage.
We may also disclose information where required by law or where reasonably necessary to protect Bumpby, our users or others.
Where a service provider processes personal information on our behalf, we expect appropriate privacy and security protections to apply.
8. International data transfers
Some technology providers may process personal information in countries outside the United Kingdom.
Where this happens, we take appropriate steps to ensure that the information receives an appropriate level of protection in accordance with applicable data protection law.
9. How long we keep your information
We keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy.
Account and profile information is generally retained while your Bumpby account remains active.
Support requests are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your request and maintain appropriate support records.
When you permanently delete your Bumpby account, we remove the active personal information associated with your account.
Limited information may remain temporarily in secure backups, system logs or records that we are legally required to retain, and will be removed or overwritten in accordance with applicable retention processes.

12. Children's information
Bumpby accounts are intended for parents, parents-to-be and carers rather than for children to operate directly.
A parent or carer may choose to provide limited information about their children so that Bumpby can personalise family activities and recommendations.
We aim to collect only the information needed to provide these features.
13. Security
We use technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, loss or misuse.
No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we regularly review the way Bumpby handles personal information as the service develops.

We may update this Privacy Policy as Bumpby develops or where legal or regulatory requirements change.
If we make material changes to how we use personal information, we will provide appropriate notice before the new use begins where required.
